Strategic Sourcing Manager Restaurant- Hybrid Seattle
The Strategic Sourcing Manager contributes to Nordstrom success by developing and leading commodity purchasing and procurement strategies, managing suppliers and internal networks to deliver best in class performance for the Nordstrom Restaurant Division. It delivers measurable and strategic goals to enable a competitive advantage to bottom-line and top-line company growth. This role collaborates internally at all levels and with suppliers. Responsible for developing multi-year negotiation and cost-saving strategies to enable success. Manages a strategic spend of $30m depending upon commodity market complexity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzes highly complex data and market industry information from multiple sources to develop sourcing and vendor recommendations
- Uses data and information to leverage category strategy and influencing
- Conducts opportunity assessments, benchmarking, cost modeling and root cause analysis to develop commodity purchasing recommendations
- Collaborates internally and with suppliers to gather data and develop insights
- Lead using demonstrated and proven experience and the application of best practice sourcing skills
- Lead complex, cross functional sourcing projects.
- Identify and capture cost savings and operational improvement opportunities
- Employ strong knowledge of key players, competitors, and market dynamics in the food and beverage industry
- Develop effective business and personal relationship with strategic suppliers and key industry players
- Professionally manage and measure suppliers for continuous performance and improvement via contracting and compliance, business reviews and performance management
- Support seamless engagement and transaction with suppliers
- Independently solve problems and make decisions for primary and strategic execution and tactical issues within the Nordstrom Restaurant Division portfolio of projects and processes
- Key advisor to strategic Restaurant technology modernization effort
- Critical partner to NRG Culinary during ideation and R&D process

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an accounting, business, supply chain or related discipline preferred
- 6+ years procurement analytics, sourcing experience, preferably in high growth Food and Beverage/Restaurant Industry
- Advanced Analytical Skills, adept in business planning, financial management, and budget management
- Strong knowledge of external market analysis, macro-economic drivers, sourcing category strategy, supplier relationship management, strategic vendor alliances, and multi-year negotiation strategies
- Knowledge of critical procurement legal requirements and contracting best practices
- Exceptional ability to influence both internally and externally
- Exceptional written and oral communication
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office, advanced to expert knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, experience with Oracle or similar ERP Systems
- Experience with spend analytics and visualization programs, RFx programs and source to pay or procure to pay technologies
