Sr. Benefits Manager - Health and Wellness - Seattle, WA (Hybrid)

Nordstrom is looking for a Senior Benefits Manager to lead the strategy, design, and execution of our Healthcare and Wellness programs in alignment with Nordstrom’s talent and Total Rewards priorities. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in total benefits offerings, market trends, and employee experience. They communicate with credibility and influence, delivering innovative, inclusive solutions that meet the evolving needs of our workforce. This individual will demonstrate a deep knowledge and understanding of the business, sound judgment, strong business acumen, and a track record of driving process improvements and program innovation.

A day in the life...

  • Support and develop a team of Benefits Analysts and program owners to deliver health, welfare, and time-off benefits that reflect Nordstrom’s values and talent priorities

  • Build strong relationships with internal business partners by understanding functional and business unit priorities and driving benefits initiatives that support those goals

  • Use financial data, vendor analysis, and internal analytics to tell the story of our benefits programs’ impact and value

  • Partner with Benefits and Total Rewards leadership to share insights that inform long-term vision and strategy

  • Apply market intelligence and employee voice to design inclusive, equitable benefit strategies that reflect the diversity of our workforce

  • Lead medical and pharmacy plan strategy and design, including PBM partnerships and core healthcare offerings, with a focus on affordability, access, and employee well-being

  • Establish and manage strategic partnerships with external vendors to co-create high-impact program design and ensure seamless, scalable administration; hold vendors accountable for delivering measurable outcomes aligned with employee experience, cost management, and Total Rewards goals

  • Analyze internal and external data to identify gaps in offerings and recommend enhancements to improve competitiveness and employee experience

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. requirements such as COBRA, ACA, ERISA, and HIPAA and other state and local regulatory requirements

You own this if you have...

  • 10+ years of experience in Benefit Plan Management, with a focus on health and welfare programs

  • 5+ years of experience leading teams of analysts and senior analysts

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or HR/Benefits certification (e.g., CEBS, PHR, SPHR)

  • Proven ability to translate ideas into implemented solutions that drive impact

  • A curious, courageous mindset with a willingness to challenge assumptions and drive innovation

  • Strong change management, executive communication, and presentation skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization

  • Experience partnering with business leaders and cross-functional teams

  • Strong business and people acumen with the ability to influence and lead through change

Location:

This is a hybrid role requiring the selected candidate to live within a commutable distance of our downtown Seattle, WA corporate offices and work onsite four (4) days per week.

Pay Range Details

Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

$126,500.00 - $210,000.00 Annual

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
