Product Manager 2 - Transportation (Hybrid - Seattle)

arrow location 1600 7th Avenue, Seattle, Washington 98101

Product Manager 2 for Transportation is a key member of the Supply Chain Product Management team, responsible for developing and executing a strategic roadmap that drives fast, reliable, and cost-efficient delivery across the fulfillment network. This role will work cross-functionally with transportation operations, carrier partnerships, fulfillment, engineering, data science, UX, and business teams to optimize the end-to-end shipping experience — from same-day delivery capabilities to carrier selection and last-mile performance — while improving customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Roadmap Execution

  • Define and drive the Transportation product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals, customer experience strategy, and network capabilities.
  • Partner with transportation operations, carrier teams, and engineering to develop data-driven solutions across same-day delivery, carrier management, and shipping optimization.
  • Drive execution by managing backlog, defining user stories, and ensuring successful feature delivery across carrier selection, routing, rate shopping, and delivery speed optimization.
  • Collaborate with finance and business stakeholders to assess value realization, including cost savings, revenue impact from speed improvements, and carrier performance outcomes.
  • Monitor KPIs including on-time delivery rates, carrier performance, same-day fulfillment rates, cost-per-shipment, and customer satisfaction metrics to identify improvement opportunities.

Product Development & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end product lifecycle for transportation features, from discovery to post-launch validation.
  • Collaborate with UX, Engineering, and Research teams to design shipping and delivery experiences that balance customer clarity with operational feasibility.
  • Define requirements through wireframes, process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria for carrier integration, same-day orchestration, and shipping rule engines.
  • Ensure feature objectives are maintained during development by partnering closely with Engineering and Data Science teams.
  • Drive integration efforts across WMS, OMS, carrier APIs, and customer-facing systems to enable seamless shipping execution and visibility.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build relationships with Engineering, Operations, Carrier Partnerships, Data Science, and Research teams to align priorities and resolve dependencies.
  • Partner with business and carrier teams to understand market-specific requirements, promotional impacts, and seasonal demand patterns affecting transportation capacity and cost.
  • Communicate progress and results to stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership, with data-driven insights.
  • Support incident triage and transportation performance investigations to maintain operational reliability and customer trust.

Go-to-Market & Optimization

  • Design A/B testing and experimentation plans to validate improvements to same-day delivery eligibility, carrier selection logic, and shipping speed offerings across market nodes and customer segments.
  • Execute launch strategies, including UAT, change management, stakeholder communication, and post-launch validation.
  • Analyze transportation performance data to identify root causes of delays, cost inefficiencies, and carrier failures, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive adoption of best practices and operational guardrails to maintain shipping integrity and carrier compliance across the fulfillment network.

Qualifications

Required

  • 4+ years of product management experience, preferably in supply chain, logistics, e-commerce, or transportation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven ability to work with data science and engineering teams on algorithmic or data-driven products.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in KPI development, A/B testing, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Basic technical proficiency (Agile methodologies, APIs, system integrations, SQL).
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business audiences.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and manage competing priorities across multiple systems and stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Experience with carrier management systems, order management systems, or last-mile delivery platforms.
  • Familiarity with same-day or on-demand delivery operations and fulfillment node orchestration.
  • Experience in multi-node fulfillment networks or omnichannel retail environments.
  • Understanding of carrier contracting, rate shopping, and last-mile delivery operations.
  • MBA or advanced certification in Product Management (e.g., CSPO, Pragmatic Institute).
