PR Specialist, Brand PR- Merchandising and Category Support - (Hybrid - Seattle, WA)
About the Role:
Our Public Relations team is seeking a PR Specialist who will be responsible for supporting the team to promote Nordstrom through various media platforms and activations. This role will support key Nordstrom business areas including but not limited to: Women’s fashion, Beauty, Accessories, and more. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the retail and fashion industries, and a fluent understanding of the media and social media landscape with fluency on relevant digital platforms.'
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a PR point of contact for assigned categories and support external brand partners, act as liaison between Nordstrom and brand partners to align on messaging, assets, and media opportunities.
- Coordinate and develop campaign assets including images, videos, pitches, media lists, press releases, media kits, and samples.
- Write and distribute pitches to secure media coverage across print, digital, and broadcast outlets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key media, influencers, and industry stakeholders.
- Partner with PR Manager and cross functional marketing and merchant partners to ideate and execute innovative campaigns and activations that drive brand awareness and engagement.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the social media landscape and integration with PR strategies.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of the social and digital media landscape, identify opportunities for influencer partnerships where applicable.
- Support the team with media monitoring & reporting: track media coverage and compile daily recaps, support the team in producing campaign-specific reports.
- Create campaign reporting documents; pulling reports from monitoring software including but not limited to Cision and Trendkite and maintain press coverage archives.
- Maintain a strong understanding of available media coverage tracking tools/techniques including new media platforms, newswires and apply effective approaches to tasks and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of professional experience, PR or Marketing experience preferred
- Proficient in social platforms, tracking and reporting press coverage
- Ability to effectively build relationships with customers, peers, and leadership
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organization and attention to detail skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and Adobe
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
