The Associate Digital Merchandising Manager plays a critical role in shaping the digital customer experience by leading homepage and global content strategy across Nordstrom.com. This role partners closely with Divisional Digital Merchandising, Marketing, Creative, and Technology to translate business priorities into compelling, customer-first storytelling that drives engagement and conversion.

This individual brings a strong point of view on content strategy, understands how to optimize digital experiences through data and testing, and can clearly articulate the “why” behind content decisions. The Associate Manager is responsible for connecting strategy to execution—ensuring that onsite experiences are cohesive, optimized, and aligned to broader business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve homepage and global content strategy, ensuring alignment with seasonal priorities, customer insights, and business objectives.
  • Translate business goals into clear, compelling digital storytelling frameworks that resonate with customers and drive engagement.
  • Act as a content strategist, guiding how content shows up across homepage and shop navigation with a focus on relevance, discoverability, and conversion.
  • Analyze performance data (traffic, engagement, conversion) to generate insights and actionable recommendations and proactively inform future content strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize the customer journey, leveraging testing (A/B, multivariate) and continuous improvement practices.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Creative, Tech, Merchandising) to bring strategic narratives to life across campaigns and seasonal moments.
  • Influence stakeholders by telling clear, data-backed stories about content performance, opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Establish and refine best practices for digital merchandising and content execution, including timelines, workflows, and quality standards.
  • Drive consistency and excellence across onsite experiences, ensuring cohesive storytelling across homepage, navigation, and key landing pages.
  • Support and contribute to long-term initiatives such as homepage innovation, personalization, and content optimization roadmaps.
  • Manage content planning and execution while balancing speed, quality, and strategic impact.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in digital merchandising, content strategy, or e-commerce.
  • Strong understanding of content strategy, digital storytelling, and customer journey mapping within an e-commerce environment.
  • Experience using analytics to inform strategy and drive optimization (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, testing platforms).
  • Ability to synthesize data into clear insights and compelling narratives for stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
